The VR Facelift is a best described as a ‘mini’ facelift; a more affordable and less invasive alternative to full face and neck lift surgery for those clients looking to lift, smooth and tighten sagging facial skin. Exclusive to face etc… medispa, the bespoke procedure was devised by Consultant Plastic Surgeon Mr Rhodes and is performed in clinic under local anaesthetic.
As every client’s skin and required goals are unique, a detailed consultation with Mr Rhodes, face etc… medispa’s Consultant Plastic Surgeon is essential prior to undergoing any surgical procedure. During the consultation Mr Rhodes will discuss any problem areas, desired improvements, options available (including no treatment at all) and expected outcomes.
Should the VR Facelift be agreed upon as the most suitable treatment, the procedure will be carried out in-clinic by Mr Rhodes in our CQC approved operating theatre. A local anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area to ensure the patient’s total comfort for the duration of the procedure. An incision is then made in front of the ear on each side of the face. Lax, excess skin is removed, before deep sutures are placed to tighten the facial ligaments and leave skin tighter and lifted. The whole procedure completed in around 2.5 hours.
The sutures are removed one week post op, at which point the true results of treatment should be visible. At this stage patients should expect to see a fresher, lifted appearance with loose skin removed and facial features defined.
Scarring is as discreet as possible, with the surgical incision having been placed within the natural crease in front of the ear and hairline.
A local anaesthetic is placed across the treatment site to ensure the client’s total comfort for the duration of the procedure.
It is recommended that the day after surgery is treated as a rest day and advisable to refrain from exercise for 7-14 days post-procedure. With bruising likely for around one week post procedure, some patients prefer to take this time off work but this is entirely personal preference.
We are governed by CQC guidelines which state a consultation must be carried out prior to any surgical appointment being booked. The consultation must be conducted at least 2 weeks, but not more than 4 months prior to the surgery.
On the day of treatment, patients are advised to eat and drink as normal. Eating something sugary such as a biscuit ahead of the procedure is also recommended.
Contact lenses should be removed prior to arrival at the clinic.
Patients should not drive for 24 hours post-procedure, therefore arrangements for a taxi or driver should be made.
