Looking for a non-surgical solution to the sagging skin around the neck and jawline? Our new PDO Thread Lift treatment could be the answer. Here, we explain why- and answer some of the most frequently asked questions…

As we age, a loss of collagen and elastin in our skin can lead to looser facial tone and the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases. Losing this protein, combined with a natural loss of fat on the face, can hollow the upper cheeks and create heaviness above the jaw line and around the chin, giving an aged and tired look. Until fairly recently, cosmetic surgery was the ‘go-to’ treatment option for tackling these prominent signs of ageing, however thanks to ever-advancing technology in the field of aesthetics, it is now possible to lift and tone sagging skin using injectable threads- all without incisions or surgery.

What are injectable threads and how do they work?

Using a fine needle, soluble PDO (polydioxanone) threads are placed under the skin to lift, tighten and improve its structure, tone and texture. The presence of the threads in the tissues initiates a direct healing response, stimulating collagen production whilst encouraging synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, both of which are vital for keeping the skin looking plump and youthful. The threads dissolve slowly over the course of 3-4 months, leaving bands of collagen in their place.

What results should I expect?

The effects of the treatment may develop gradually, with the optimum result reached after approximately 3 – 4 months. Over time, the PDO thread lift gently lifts and repositions tissues, resulting in a more youthful looking appearance. Hollow cheeks appear fuller, while any sagging skin is lifted and wrinkles are eased. Results generally last approximately 12 – 24 months, depending on the age of the patient at the time of procedure and how much sagging the thread lift has corrected.

How much does treatment cost and how do I find out more?

Dependent on your needs and area of concern, several different techniques- and types of thread- may be used for treatment. A thread lift for localised, superficial and fine lines will start from from £400, whereas a full face lift for overall facial rejuvenation usually starts from £1300.
